BUILDING RENOVATIONS

Building Renovations will begin over Spring Break. When our students return, the hallway ceiling panels will be gone, as updates are made to the school wiring and fire alarm system. Please know student safety is our primary focus! Outside you will also notice differences, as construction will begin with the addition of two new Kindergarten classrooms and an auxiliary gym.  Next year, all of our classrooms will be renewed with fresh paint and new cabinetry. We are excited about all of the changes to come!

King is a School of Excellence!
Receiving a “School of Excellence” flag is a source of great pride for a school community in Prince William County. Schools attain this designation by demonstrating high levels of performance— they must be fully accredited by the state, meet Virginia academic Annual Measurable Objectives, and achieve an overall score of 90 out of 100 points on PWCS Strategic Plan-based measures. This year, 44 flags will be handed out at Schools of Excellence celebrations to mark this achievement.  Maintaining this designation is not an easy task. The finish line that marks success moves each year, ensuring that schools never rest with their last accomplishments. In all, 37 elementary schools, five middle schools, and both traditional schools are named Schools of Excellence this year based on 2012–13 data and one of those schools is KING!

Calling All Car Riders!

If your student will be a regular afternoon car rider this school year, please complete and return the "Afternoon Car Circle Dismissal Form" to the office to receive your car number. All students who are going to be picked up in the car circle must have a number to be displayed in their car to ensure all students leave safely from school. All students that will be picked up by car are expected to use the car circle, and not be picked up along Nickleson Dr. At this Friday's open house, we will have a table in the front lobby for you to complete the form and receive your number. If you are not attending open house, you can download the form here and send it with your child on the first day of school. Thank you for your support!
