Fire Drill-False Alarm

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In keeping with our ongoing commitment to communicate effectively with our school community, I am writing to advise you about an incident that occurred today and the steps taken to ensure the safety of our students and staff. At approximately 1:40 p.m. the building was evacuated when the fire alarm sounded. The fire department and PWCS Office of Facilities Services responded immediately and determined that the alarm had been triggered by dust.

The staff and students responded admirably in following Crisis Management Plan evacuation procedures. Their effective efforts ensured that no one was ever in any danger and allowed us to continue the instructional day with minimal interruption.

The response serves as further confirmation that the safety and security of our students and staff is our highest priority.

Sincerely,
Amy Larsen
Principal
